Right: entrada_12_09_R

Both the left member, and right member of this line blend have empirical formula with:

alumina = .4

slilica = 2.9

Li2O = .25

MgO = .25

Thus equally all the tiles have this alumina and silica, lithium, and magnesia

The left member has:

combined K2O, Na2O = .15

CaO = .35

The right member has: combined K2O, Na2O = .35

CaO = .15

This is a test of the effect of the relative proportion of alkaline metals to Alumina.

The alkali metal:alumina ratio of the left member of this line blend is 1

The alkali metal:alumina ratio of the right member of this line blend is 1.5

This is fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln. All the tiles were fired in the same kiln, on the same shelf.
