Both Base glazes have moderate MgO, minimal CaO and contain TiO2. Alkali metal content in both base glazes is nearly equal to each other and to alumina.
The alkali metal content in each is high in Li2O, being greater than half Li2O.
In the first glaze the remaining base is ZnO. In the second glaze remaining bases are distributed between ZnO and SrO with somewhat more ZnO than SrO.
The glaze on the left has nickel, on the right cobalt.
Note the striking resemblance of the quality of the green in both glazes. The cobalt color resembles the nickel color with a bit of blue added.
The pot on the right has a leaf print, produced by an additional colored wash.
The contrast color on the rim is spillover from a distinct outside glaze.
The glaze on the left has nickel, on the right cobalt.
Note the texture created by the presence of the SrO in this glaze.
With both nickel and cobalt, this is a textured somewhat varigated glaze. As with the first glaze, the cobalt color has an undertone, the color of the nickel glaze, with blue added.
The pot on the right has a run through leaf print at the upper left, an additional colored wash produced these markings.
The dunting crack visible in the right hand bowl is likely the result of the 3/16th inch thick glaze layer in the inside foot ring.
The contrast color on the rim is spillover from a distinct outside glaze.
