Surface Luster

A glaze with a prismatic surface luster.

A high alkali-metal saturated-iron glaze, which where thick develops a miror-like surface film showing
varied colors. This is most prominent in the bottom of the bowl. The absence of the luster on most of the outside of
the bowl shows the dependence of this effect on glaze thickness.
